A year or 2 back …  i found a new interest - Photography !! It’s not that i didn’t have any interest in it before but for the past 2 years i have became quite passinate about it.

I love to look at picture of wild life - nature - flower - and anything related to it. I love to travel too n when i combine the two … i feel like heaven. But the sad part is that i don’t know much about photography and only take picture of flowers and yes …. sometime nature too.

Actually i m quite desparate to experiment but do not have time to go out and take snaps ….  only around winter going out is possible. Delhi’s hot summer makes it unthinkable n unbearable to step out of home.  So waiting for summer to end which is at it’s peak as it’s almost …. May !!! Thank God - it rain today …. hope the wheather will be little better for sometime

…. well i m going out of topic - photography.  I have joined Flickr (2 years back) - there’re many good photographers …. n there’re many things to learn from their photographs …. though there is’nt any set rules to produce a gorgeous shot. Yet by looking at different photographer’s photostream - one gets an idea of looking at simple things with different prospective.

One of the photographer (in Flickr) wrote in her profile …. the instrument (camera) doesn’t need to be hightec - it is the photographer’s view that makes the photo interesting …. n that is so true - her photostream is indeed stunning …. full of amazing photos. But there is a really funny thing …. there are many photographer whose photos aren’t that interesting and still people would appreciate them like it’s the ultimate. I try my best to figure out why so much hue n cry …. but fail !!!

One reason for these absurd appreciation is that a particular person comments on others photo and so these “others” would comment on his photo … which is good at some point - but because of this formality appreciation (comments) … the photo gets selected for  “Explored” (kind of award/tittle) and the criteria to get Explored is : ur photo gets lots of comment n lots of people select it as their favorite. So all sorts of nuisance photo gets Explored including good ones too … but this is not fair (their criteria) as many people take marvelous shot n doesn’t get “Explored” …. sad but it is that way.

It’s true - mine never got “Explored” but i m happy …. because i know my pics are much better than many of those whose does get “Explored”. ….. n i always wandered how on earth did this pic get Explored …. n the reason is “it is popular” !!!

Anyhow - i m happy to know Flickr …. but unfortunately it’s getting little boring now. Maybe i need to explore (not “Explore”) other set of photographer rather than those i know - lets see

…. our loving Beelu - will always in our hearts

April 23rd 2010 - Beelu left us at 13:57  friday. He was suffering from lymphoma. Fought bravely against it but at last  couldn’t take those strong medicines anymore.

Those last moments were painful n cannot be forgetten even if we try very hard ….. but yes we should always try to remember those happy and memoriable time when he was with us and cheerish his love for us. He will always be in our heart n so he is actually alive n will stay with us ALWAYS !!!

My brother Joyda …. is extremly fond of him …. not that other aren’t but he was the one who took the initiative  to adopt him n later Peelu. He once again took the initiative of getting Beelu back by keeping his DNA n cloning him in the coming 5th to 6th year. Right now cloning is little expensive - hope we can get his DNA extrated on time and can keep it safe with some company.

He  was … no no - he still is our brother as maa took care of him just like his very own son … they’re  in Denmark right now … very sad yet keeping themself strong n consoling us …. God bless our Loving brother Beelu … he will always be in our memories n heart !!!

It’s Bengali New Year …. so Happy New Year to all !!! It’s a very special day for the bengalis … we celebrate it like Durga puja … eat  n have fun - n off course wear new colthes too …. wish everyone have a Great year ahead with good heatlh … n good rain too - ha ha !!!

In botanical terms it is not a flower … surpise ???? me too ! …. it is actually a bunch of flowers (compound flower) ….

They’re inexpensive yet brighten ups the garden with its orange - maroon - yellow colors. In India they’re
being used in garland n to decorate houses on auspicious ocassion.

Marigold can also be grown from its stem. I brought stem of this marigold from Vridaban (my mashima lives
there) … planted it in a pot n watered it regularly. In few days new leaves  began to grow … but the
squriel - those beautiful looking creatures - used to eat its flower n buds. Couldn’t do anythis about it
… so took it to my shop - there it blossom Perfectly !!

While uncle (from Assam) was staying here - he bought this marigold plant which was full with buds and
flowers. After a week later when the bloom flowers dried up the plant began to dry up … n those buds never
bloom !!! so never buy marigold from plant vendor - it is always better to grow them at home from its seeds.

Uncle brought it from a dried pond (the pond is in a park near our house). This year it dried up compeletly.
Well … after he brought the marigold plant - he didn’t have any pot to plant it … so he took a normal
poly bag and filled it with potting soil and planted the marigold plant in it. i never thought it will
flower … but at last it did but the sad part is .. the day after i took the photo someone picked it up (it
was quite near the gate) … people can be so nasty !!!

This one too … uncle brought from the dried pond. Didn’t think it will survive the cold of Delhi … but
it not only survived - it is one of the best marigold we had grown this year … n that too by chance as we
didn’t know what type it will flower. The plant was full of orange marigold … Beautiful n mesmerizing

I have kept these dried flower for next year. My grandmother (nani) says …. if you keep the seeds from outer part of the flower … it will produce normal marigold flower n the inner part seed will produce “chutki” marigold  (those with fewer petal). To see if true or not have to wait till next year !!!
